thaibeachlovers Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 In other words I need a strong zip. Can't find anywhere that sells zips. Apparently haberdasheries are unknown in LOS. Anywhere in the night market area would be good. Thanks.
Mahseer Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Worawat market. Find the seamstress ladies on the 1st floor and they'll point you to the shop 10 yards away that sell zips including YKK which are decent. Walk up the escalator that hasn't worked for 10 years and the ladies will be all the way to the right facing Chiang Moi Road. Alternately see the lady who sets up shop opposite Macormick hospital and she'll buy the zips and fix your pack for you and quote YKK if that's your preference. I just had 4 zips replaced on my pack and it took 3 days but happy with her work.
cmsally Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Go to KUL. On Chang Moi dat mai road . It is the road between Tapae and Chiang Moi at Wat Saen Fan,. KUL is half way along the road on the east side. Fairly close to the Indian temple/ building. If KUL doesn't have the kind of zip you need she can tell you where to find it. Her shop is narrow with glass fromt and door . KUL is normally on the cash desk!

I went to a shop there. There are two shops that appear to sell the same things, on opposite sides of the road. I don't think your road exists as it's not on the map and the road is actually Chang Moi Tud Mai Rd. Walking from Thaphae Rd pass Wat Saen Fang on left and it's just past a small market street. One shop just past a restaurant and the other opposite. Sikh temple is a bit further on the right. At the intersection to the right is the Chinese archway on Chang Moi Rd that leads to Warorot market. Seems to be the haberdashery area of C M as there is a big shop selling wool and such by the intersection. Not easy to find it as few signs and few people speaking English. The shop keeper three shops away had no idea that a shop selling zips was there. Anyway, excellent selection of zips and thread etc. They obviously supply the tailor shops with bulk supplies.
