Khun Thaksin was in Hong Kong last week, where is is understood to have met lobbyists from Barbour, Griffith and Rogers. He met Stephen Rademaker who was assistant secretary of state for international security and non-proliferation, and Ed Rogers, former White House staffer and the firm's founder.

The company is a top Republican lobbying firm, offering access to the Bush Administration.

His television interviews are managed and arranged by international PR firm Edelman.
