Police have arrested a security guard who they say has been assaulting women in the Rachada area of Bangkok behind a branch of the Big C department store.

Daily News said earlier that there were fears that someone in the area was infecting pedestrians with tainted HIV infected blood in a needle.

A 21 year old university student called Kamonchanok went to Huay Khwang police after making a Facebook post that said she was hurt after passing a man holding a cloth concealing something sharp in the Soi Na Thong 3 area.

The man lurched at her and she was left with a two centimeter wound that drew blood. The man hurried off but the student checked on Facebook and realized that she was only one of many other victims.

Daily News claimed in their headline that there was a "psycho with Aids" on the loose who wanted to get revenge on women for being infected.

Police said that they knew the identity of the man who was a former security guard at a shopping center.

Later Sanook reported that a 60 year old man named as Trujit was now in custody and facing assault charges. Police want to talk to relatives to find out more about him, they said, noting that he was arrested at a room in Phracha Songkroh 24 and was currently employed as a security guard.

They made no connection with the case and HIV.

Sanook said that the suspect told police that he was worried about being close to other people and carried a screwdriver in a cloth to stab people who got too close to him.

Another moron, that they appearently already had knowledge of. Why let him be free and hurt more people?
