I am an American citizen who has been living in Thailand since 2004, and have Thai wife and daughter. Twice a year, for the past 3 years, we have tried to visit the U.S. during Christmas or Spring Break so that my Thai family can meet my children from a previous marriage there. I had gone through a divorce in 1999. My wife and daughter have been denied a visa 6 times now with no reason given other than a 4" X 8" generic denial slip that they were given at the Immigration window. I have talked to people in Homeland Security here and in America, and also corresponded with the Immigration main office in the USA, and after researching our case, we have been told that there is no logical reason that they can see for their visas to be denied. When we talked with Homeland Security this past October (2017) they said that we probably need to get an attorney to have this resolved and that others have had to do that also. What is so crazy about this is that they told us that if I move back to America and file for my family to join me, they can't be denied entry, but they won't issue a tourist visa for just 30 days! Seems a bit whacko to me. While I taught school here for many years, I am now past 70 and retired. We enjoy our life here an don't want to immigrate. Have any of you Thai Visa members used an attorney to deal with Thai Immigration before, and do you have anyone that you would recommend? I will appreciate any wisdom you have to offer.
