Hi All,

Has anyone living in Thailand successfully applied to replace their childrens passports as if they were in UK? I will be replacing ours shortly and would much rather send the full monty home duly completed for a family member to post internally than do the hop-skip-&-jump to Bkk if we don't actually need to.

My kids hold duel nationality. Their current UK ppts expire shortly.

When I asked Passport Office if I could renew whilst visiting UK (without children) the answer was no. The application has to be made in Thailand. This was despite me being in Liverpool where the bloody things are eventually issued. Haven't looked into agents etc and will probably wait another couple of years now so a ten year one can be applied for.

Yes not sure how they can tell were he is. I went to Durham passport office and explained the situation to them, they said no problem just apply here. When I filled in the form and it asks for home address I called the help line to see if they wanted a Thai or English address and they said he had to apply from Thailand. Wasn't sure what to do so just decided to apply in Thailand. The only thing that says were he lives is the house book but they don't ask for that.
