Is venofer or ferrlecit available in thailand and at what price? It is IV iron used to treat iron deficiency or anemia

Venofer is available but will be very expensive as it is a Western  import. Other brands of same thing (iron sucralose) are:

 

Anerrum (I think Korean import)

Fe-Back (Taiwanese import)

Ferogen (locally made brand)

Encifer (Indian import)

Femorurm (Korean import)

 

As this needs to be infused under medical supervision cost will not just be cost of the drug but also the hospital mark up on that (ranging from none at public hospitals to many fold at the more expensive private hospitals) plus the hospital charge for the infusion etc.  Also you will have to see a doctor first and there will be a consultation fee for that.

 

Total cost will vary greatly depending on which preparation is used and at which hospital. If you are in Bangkok try St Louis, Bangkok Christian or Camellian hospitals. Or - if you have enough time - Chulalongkhorn via their after hours clinic. In all 3 places wou will need to first see a hematologist.

 

Have records from your home country with you documenting the need etc.
