Urged to quit over this remark what a joke he led the whole of the UK up the garden path to brexit lala land and got promoted !

He was caught out lying and making promises he knew could never be kept based on some of those lies. And Yep, he got promoted.

Old Etonian, Oxbridge, from a very wealthy family. He can do as he pleases!

“As I have just discovered we have more than a million who go to Thailand every year, where according to our superb consular services they get up to the most eye-popping things.”

Yes, the growing zip-lining business has eclipsed the old bungee-jumping malarkey ten-fold.

How totally (un)remarkable is that?

The "organic carrots" were his worst gaffe.

Revealing, as it does, the sort of austerity lives to which his gang are condemning the people of the UK.

The new UK "unit of exchange"?:

Because they thought it safer to have him inside the tent p****** out?

The Tory Civil War is far from over.

Complete & utter nonsense

Explain the benefits so far in 2 years crashed the pound higher import prices more foreigners buying up houses cheap and cheap for tourist migrants still there and not going anywhere .

I would have agreed if what was said by Boris Gove and Farangatang was the truth instead of leading the flat cap brexit north on a pack of lies and aspirations like a Chelsea pied piper.

1. Apparently he didn't actually say "eye popping" in his delivered speech..

And 2. Even if he had, that phrase doesn't necessarily mean sex tourism. It could equally be a Brit referring to visiting "scenic" places like Phuket or Chiang Mai or Phi Phi...

Those of us living here have our own views of those kinds of places. But to a stodgy Londoner, there are all variety of things in Thailand that might be called "eye popping" -- aside from the hookers.

Seems like a tempest in a teapot to me.

There's been a re-shuffle of the staff at the Embassy, then?

If he deserves to be fired, it probably should have been over THIS remark -- not the eye popping one.

But, they do work for him, after all. So I suppose it had to be said.

Can you back that with a first hand account of percieved failure or is it based on something gleaned from a 'bloke in a pub'?

Yes I can. 1st and 2nd hand instances and more than one. In my experience they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Prince Phillip is very well known for his whimsical and starge remarks, should

we ask him to resign as well? people are measured with their quality of their deeds,

and not their tongues....

Can you resign as a royal or are you suggesting we just take off his head

Despite sharing the general view about Old Etonians I have to admit to enjoying BJ's eccentric buffoonery, along with much that is said by Mogg

Thank you for this copy of the original speech, which was, obviously, taken apart, falsified, and things taken out of context, by the jerks of the yellow press and their half-truths sensationaism.

Here's the full speech inc Q & A. The offending phrase generating this thread fleetingly appears @9.20

Foreign Secretary was plunged into renewed controversy after making an offensive joke about sex tourism to Thailand – which has notoriously involved the abuse of children.

Who writes this claptrap??? Offensive to who? and trying to link what he said to child abuse - Really, for peats sake, they should be called out and made to account for attempting to manipulate the facts.

'We have a million visitors who get up to the most eye popping of things' is what he said in reference to what UK tourists/visitors get up to - a nice way of saying the FACTS of what we all know. Get over it!

The right wing christian conservatives through their influence on government and tabloid media have for many years campaigned for locking down sex in the UK. Campaigns to outrage middle aged and older brits that tell about various people being involved in 'sinful, sleazy and filthy' sex fill the front pages of the Daily Mail, Sun etc most days.

Its virtually impossible to have sex in the UK unless you are in a relationship, especially for those older than their early-20s.

No wonder the country is rife with drunken, aggressive  violent people unable to get laid every evening of the week.

But not only are the christian conservatives, (supported by the feminists and easily offended and outraged PC liberal left) trying to stop Brits at home from having sex they are trying to stop Brits abroad too ...and actually would like the whole world to stop having sex.

Bojos remarks are part of this narrative.

Lets hope that Brexit makes that country disappear so far up its own ass that it is unable to influence anything beyond its own shores ever again.
