Crocodile bites Phuket trainer during show

PHUKET:-- A trainer at a crocodile farm in Chalong was lucky to escape serious injury today when one of the reptiles snapped its jaws shut while the man’s head was inside the crocodile’s mouth.

 

Ruamjai Kupai rescue workers were notified of the incident in Moo 5 in Chalong at 12:55pm today (Feb 23).

 

Jampa Kaewsai, 43, a crocodile trainer at a crocodile farm on Chao Fa West Rd suffered bite wounds to his left ear and right side of his face.  Mr Jampa was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town.

Pity the animals, training them to do such acts  not natural to them  involve cruelty. All these kinds of animal shows including crocodlies, monkeys, dolphins, tigers, elephants must be banned. And Thailand has a very huge industry doing this.

Erm....since when do you "train" crocs? What was he training them to do...a back-flip, jump through a hoop or a handstand? Give me a break.

 

A more suitable title would be "baiter" perhaps.

Jumping through hoops is a reserved occupation for farangs trying to get visa's I thought, but crocs may be a word that could also fit in there

I had some crocodile soup. Now I know how they select the next one for the pot.
