February 24, 20188 yr Yes there are folk who take away your old batteries. Yes there seems to be "recycling" deposit bins at a few locations around CM. Batteries are now highly recyclable in the west, there's a lucrative industry for it, but what really happens to old motive lead acid batteries here? Are their materials recycled or are they perhaps only stripped of their lead and the toxic acid dumped irresponsibly?
February 24, 20188 yr They are cut open , lead recycled, God only knows where the acid ends up,should be recycled too ,but .... When you buy a new car battery, the shop usually offers you 200-300 THB for your old one. regards worgeordie
February 25, 20188 yr The battery acid is repurposed as the main ingredient in Som Tom... A lot of it is sold in London.Sent from my iPod touch using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
