Car battery recycling - what really goes on?

Recommended Posts

Yes there are folk who take away your old batteries.

Yes there seems to be "recycling" deposit bins at a few locations around CM.

Batteries are now highly recyclable in the west, there's a lucrative industry for it, but what really happens to old motive lead acid batteries here?

Are their materials recycled or are they perhaps only stripped of their lead and the toxic acid dumped irresponsibly?

They are cut open , lead recycled, God only knows where the

acid ends up,should be recycled too ,but ....

When you buy a new car battery, the shop usually offers you

200-300 THB for your old one.
