PoeDogg
I have a friend that is living here without medical insurance. He is 73, American, in great shape (goes to the gym every other day), non-smoker and no prior health issues. Can anyone recommend some companies that would insure him, at least for Thailand? Thanks,
Sheryl
If he lives in Chiang Mai should look into the group plan available through the CM Expat Club. Likewise if he lives in Pattaya should look into the group plan available through the Pattaya Expat Club. Otherwise: Cigna Global AXA - PPP plan and Now Health Plan Globality - Essential plan ALC - Premier Primo plan Of the above, Cigna will be the least expensive. Even so, insurance will not be cheap. He can reduce premiums by accepting a deductible and copay. Only needs inpatient cover,
GinBoy2
The dirty rotten truth is however. No matter how you spin it health insurance for the old is prohibitively expensive. Even in the screwed up US system, at least for older Americans the cost decreases, unlike here. It's all a sad reality of growing old in Thailand
