Thunderstorms damage 110 houses in Nakhon Phanom

Some 110 houses in two districts of Nakhon Phanom province were damaged after being lashed by thunderstorms on Wednesday night.
 

The Nakhon Phanon-based Army Circle 210 and the province’s Disaster Mitigation Office dispatched officials to help local governments survey the damage on Thursday morning to assess the assistance required by the locals.

Army engineering corps and other officials also provided immediate help by fixing the damaged houses in Na Kae and That Phanom districts.

Officials said 80 houses in Tambon Na Khu and 10 houses in Tambon Phimarn were damaged while 20 houses in That Phanom were also affected. Of the damaged houses, 20 were completely destroyed.

The storms also felled many trees and power poles along the roads.

It was the second time that local residents in the province had suffered damage inflicted by thunderstorms this month. Earlier, some 300 houses in Phone Sawan district were damaged.
