Police arrested an alleged drug courier in Bangkok early Friday with 32,200 methamphetamine pills, 445 grams of crystal meth and 10 kilograms of marijuana.

Watana Buapha, 26, was arrested at 1.30am under a U-turn bridge near the entrance to a community on Prasert Manoonkit Road in Chatuchak district.

Bangkhen police chief Pol Col Amnart Intharasuan said there was a tip about teenagers taking drugs in the area. Police saw Watana fleeing on a motorcycle but managed to stop him.

There were 30,000 meth pills in a bag in the bike’s front basket. A search of his house and a condo in Nonthaburi uncovered more drugs.

Watana purportedly admitted to police he’d been hired to collect the meth on Prasert Manoonkit Road and deliver it to a location on Kanchanapisek Road in Bang Bua Thong.

He knew his employer only by the nickname Ong.
