Popular Post webfact
Pattaya Goddess issues her warning - then carries out her threat on the police! Picture: Sanook Sanook reported that considerable damage was done to ten police vehicles and other property at the force's flats in Soi 5 off Pattaya Sai 2 yesterday when a large tree came toppling down. Rescue workers were quickly on the scene as electrical engineers surveyed the damage to wires. Fortunately no one was hurt. But the event was predicted according to a local woman. Sanook said that Jao Mae Takhian - the goddess of the trees - had appeared in a dream to the owner of a traditional Thai massage shop in the area. The goddess had warned of the collapse of the 20 meter tall tree and the massage shop owner had advised people to move out their valuables. Some did - but many of the police clearly didn't get the message.....or ignored the portent of doom. There is a shrine to the spirit in the area. dunroaming
The police have now issued an arrest warrant for Jao Mae Takhian - the goddess of the trees. The charge is criminal damage and embarrassing the police.

champers
Just a cursory look at this police accomodation makes it apparent that the job is poorly paid. It is probably the case that the honest cops are housed here; I know of one living there who will not take bribes and has a second job on the side as a security guard to make ends meet.

No different to europe and usa where people believe the dead come back to life then float up into the sky. Or guys in long black frocks can forgive you for murdering someone and then you can join the floaters up there somewhere when they hang you or whatever. Seems fancy red, white or black gowns can make you so much better than the peasants beneath you that you keep asking for money. ??
