116 road racers arrested in Bangkok

By The Nation

Police rounded up 116 motorists and pillion riders while they were allegedly racing on a Bangkok road early on Saturday.

The operation was led by Borom Ratchonnanee Road at 2am was led by Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, deputy commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau.

Surachet said police seized 101 motorcycles during the operation. He said 79 of the arrested were under 18 years old and 37 others were adults.

Surachet said police planned the arrest after learning that some of the racers used Facebook pages to schedule road races, mostly on the Borom Ratchonnanee Road.

He said police also arrested Palakorn Pluemsamphan, 27, for using his Facebook page to encourage and schedule road races.

Confiscate motorbike big fine and meaby fine to the parents to the underage children for not teaching them good manners and keep them home

  • Popular Post

Bus and mini van racer were exempted from any round up this week. :cheesy:

I refer to another story:

Songkran crackdown to battle road accidents, harsher penalties promised

Can it then be taken that harsher penalties will apply to these idiot motorbike drivers who endanger lives? Most unlikely because the the crackdown did not occur during Songkran.

Their bikes will be returned and they will be given the customary slap on the wrist and the road racers will change their venues for the coming racing calendar.

Teach them a bigger lesson and sell off their bikes, put the money towards the victims of road accidents.

A stern lecture ,grounded for 2 months and mabey  a spanking...children

And give the bikes back in a few days or weeks because “I need it for school or work “ Boohoo ! A big crusher would do the job for a scrap metal merchant
