A taxi driver was arrested in Bangkok’s Nong Chok district late on Tuesday night, and police found 106,000 methamphetamine pills and 735 grams of crystal meth in his taxi.

Samart Yai-oon, 46, was arrested at 10pm at the front of Soi Sin Anan after he drove his taxi from his rented room in Khok Faed subdistrict.

He was arrested under an arrest warrant obtained by railway police on Monday.

Samart told police that he has been working as a drug courier for a boss he knew only as “Brother”. He said he was contacted by phone to pick up drugs at various places and deliver them to recipients for Bt1,000 to Bt1,500 at a time.

He said he picked up the seized drugs from Soi Thammasat-Rangsit 39 and was told to deliver it to Soi Liab Waree 61.

maybe this is how it all ends. Thailand addicted to meth. no one able to work. pay their bills. meth addicts with machetes in the streets. running gun battles. the once famous beautiful smiles now a head full of rotten teeth.
