Thai Classical Dancing In Samui

Featured Replies

Now that I'm in Samui I'd like to try and find a show of the classical Thai dancing - this is not as easy as appears.

ask a Thai and they think you mean go go bars or this transvestite crap you get over here (such as Tiffany's in Pattaya).

Is there anywhere you can see real Thai girls doing the traditional stuff?

cheers

Green Mango in Chaweng has been mentioned - is this classical stuff or a go-go?

Only hotels show it, that I know of..................................

The Imperial Boathouse, Choeng Mon...............& a few others, usually on a Friday night. Check the local Samui rag.............Community mag.

Hope you find what you are looking for.......................

Mae Nam has a Thai Dance Troupe, have to get their phonenumber. They may let you know where they do their act.

Beside taking nice pictures - it's quite boring stuff - IMHO!

I prefer "Tiffany's" and the like - much more fun!

SalaThai in Lamai have regular Thai shows once or twice a week. There is also another place in Bophut ,the name escapes me & they have regular shows on.

There's a restaurant as you enter the Fishermans' Village on your right that has classical Thai dancers. Can't remember the name but you can't miss it as the front is fairly open.

Haven't eaten there, just seen it in passing.

The Bophut place is called Siam Classic, Thai Dance and Drama Restaurant

680 baht for show and 5 course set dinner.

I didn't go but my parents loved it .
