Tradesmen Sort for House Renovations

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Our House is in Mae Rim

I live in Oz and the wife has just called saying we have a leaking roof in several rooms, suspect it could be due to leaves blowing on there with the storms recently. We are on 3 acres and the house yard we’re surrounded by a few rain trees. It’s a tile roof and 10 years old and going forward we’ll need to source the following trades

Roofers tile or iron.

Plumbers (guy she’s using at present I believe is learning on the job)

Water Pumping - installation and maintenance (guy she’s using at present is a train wreck)

Electrician - (one she’s using at present will indirectly kill one of us)

Or even a builder that has a good reputation for standard of work who has his own team of trades to call on?

I have trouble getting the wife to accept that if you look for a bargain the result is shit work that we are seeing at present. Mention looking for a better standard of tradesmen and she starts with the “we’ll pay too much”, I honestly don’t mind if the job is only done right the first time...

There are some quality builders, plumbers and electricians around as I see it in the finish other houses around... I’ve just got to find them...

Regards

I think its going to help if you give the approx area where your house is.

For water pumps I would try AngThong (Charoenrat Rd.)They are very quick if in the city area and do outskirts too but you may have  to wait a day or two until they have a couple of appts in the same direction from town.

Ummmm he did say his house is in Mae Rim.

Yes that is also quite a big area but less so than CM province.

Whoops missed that (maybe he edited it )

I just got 2 guys to fix my roof but I don't think they will go as far as Mae Rim.

They did an awesome job.

Electricians tend to only be interested if you want the whole house rewired, same goes for plumbers! But if you get someone fairly local you might have more luck.

I'll PM the OP with the name and number of a builder I've used in Mae Rim for several years.
