Some off topic and troll posts have been removed, there is no excuse for hitting another person in or out of a uniform so lets discuss that please:

11) You will not post slurs, degrading or overly negative comments directed towards Thailand, specific locations, Thai institutions such as the judicial or law enforcement system, Thai culture, Thai people or any other group on the basis of race, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

And almost everybody blaming or making a joke out of the police. Unfathomable!

It would be unfathonable were that the case, however most of the replies seem to be (rightly) supportive of the tourist police.

Give that volunteer Fuzz a medal.

Do your thing comrade.

Thanks from me for taking a hit for the good guys and raising the general cred of foreigners in this hood we live in.

Hopefully this incident will bring home the message that Police volunteers are there to help with translation/explanations etc "NOT" dress up like they are in a swat team and arrest/detain people or enforce the law. They are not police and have no police powers and should stop acting like they do.

Do you really want to take away their only pleasure?

I think you have to punch pretty hard to knock out a natural healthy tooth with your fist. I suspect the tooth was defective or weakened in some way.

That won't matter, the volunteer with help from his police buddies can now get an implant tooth for 70k and present the bill to the drunk, that should sober him up.

His accent sounds like that from Northern Ireland where he says he has his own house .
Initially i thought that but when talking about the bill he sounded like a Brit from the south.
Anyway, deport him, he's the kind Thailand really doesn't want

Which, of course, deserves a rhetorical answer.      :cheesy:

Tourist police don't usually handcuff and don't arrest, once they have taken a signed statement, in Thai and English, the criminal police are called to do the arrest and charging if this is warranted. The tourist police are there to help tourists in trouble, the statement made to them is a bastion against the police making you sign statements in Thai that you can't understand, you needn't sign any other statement just refer to the statement made at the tourist police, you have a copy. This apparently often goes wrong. It is law that a foreign tourist is first investigated by the tourist police to protect your rights before the criminal police can charge you, I think this is ignored sometimes out of malice or ignorance, there is a certain amount of tension between the criminal and tourist police. I had noticed that often hospitals were ignorant of the fact that a dead farang had to be first reported to the tourist police and they then do the rest, instead they call the criminal police instead so often the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.
