A man died during a midday sleep when a fire engulfed his house in Lampang's Hang Chat district on Friday afternoon.

 

Police said Yutthachai Thepwang, 44, was killed in the fire that engulfed his two-storey house in Tambon Muang Yao at 12:20pm.

 

Firefighters took about half an hour to put out the blaze after which Yutthachai's charred body was found inside the bedroom on the second floor.

 

Police have yet to investigate the cause of the fire.
