Bangkok To Capetown South Africa

Featured Replies

Thinking of flying down to South Africa to escape the heat for a bit. What airlines/routes/travel agents should I look into to get the best fare? What is a good fare there? I think maybe 35,000 baht but would like to pay less.

Good choice of destination

Malaysian Airlines via KL

Singapore Airlines via Singapore

Qatar Airlines via Doha

Kenyan Airways via Nairobi

all fly to Cape Town ex BKK, the first two you could fly out of Phuket

SA Airways/Cathay Pacific fly via HK and JHB

Price will depend on season. Malaysian & Singapore & Cathay have websites and on line booking but I guess you are estimating about right. Qatar Airlines probably being the cheapest.

I was talking to two couples at Abu Dhabi at Christmas and they told me that the cheapest was Etihad Bangkok - Abu Dhabi - Jo'berg

I think Singapore Airlines would be a nice, flexible option, allowing you to fly in and out of both Jo'Berg and Cape Town...they were in the 35.000 area last I checked and do provide some of the best service in the world. Their excellent connection times at Changi are also very convenient.
