Breaking Wind While Sleeping.

Featured Replies

I'll go out on a limb here and say that probably most of the posters here neither deficate nor urinate while sleeping. Do people with simiilarly developed bodily control also not fart while sleeping?........and, most importantly......how do you know.

Chownah

chownah, take your wife to see the doctor, please.

I know I fart when I sleep as my wife tells me in the morning ... :D

What, you don't give her the "Dutch Oven" treatment ? (Pull the covers over her head and then let one rip while she's trapped) :D

I thought all guys did that to their spouses ! (Then again, maybe that explains why I don't have a spouse ?) :o

Why limit it to sleeping hours? It seems to be perfectly acceptable in daylight among many farang people in any social situation in Thailand. Curs and heathens one and all. I hear there is a new product you stick up your bum and it plays ring tones whenever you pass wind. Nothing to fix the odour, I'm afraid, but I am sure they will develop a rasberry scent soon. Blow a rasberry and hear a digitalised Mozart's 5th. That's pretty bedlamist.

I can confirm that individuals do pump while sleeping. My husband - :D a lovely gentle man, woke me with such a stinker I thought I would vomit. We had been out to the rugby club in Muscat and drank loads and eaten some curry :o , stumbled home to bed and fell soundo. Next thing - the stench was overpowering and made me heave :D . A dutch oven wasn't even needed. My retching woke him up (that and the kick in the bottom). Foul.

I think the real question is has any poster farted whilst sleeping and the smell has been so bad that they woke themselves up?

my missus lets some rippers go while asleep, even waking her up sometimes, then she blames me :o

Yep, I do, or so I have been told. I also snore at a level that is completely unacceptable to everyone - apart from my wife who says she cant sleep if she doesnt hear me snoring. White lies are great. :o

That's our little 'O' ring again the anal sphincter ... as we get older it gets a little 'saggy' ... not so tight ... a bit of pressure build up in the rectal passage after a good curry and hey presto .... PRAAAAAAAP .... out she pops ... whilst the guards are down ... even whilst we are sleeping ... just be thankful that your sphincter has enough tautness to prevent the big boys coming out to play ... that's when things really get messy :o

Oh, ask Grover to do a dissertation on that.

<deleted> hel_l , im 30 years old. not 100 years old. :o

control, not allways, when you get to Yorkies age, there is a certain amount of follow thru. :o

Well, Miss J judging by Mr Gs avatar, at his advanced age, his 'O' ring will be completely eroded and unless he uses a large rubber bung with silicon jelly he will be wearing a large nappy (diaper for the North Americans) ...... :o

my turtle heads are fully under control, thank you very much.

who started this freakish thread anyway ?

farts are meant to be deliberately offensive when in close quarters with another in an intimate arrangement...I usually give the wife the three second warning then wave the bed clothes accordingly...

remarkably...a lot of women's farts don't smell :o

I would say the opposite - women seems to be expert at SBD - Silent But Deadly.

I never d it in my sleep, neither does my wife. We do however go out of deep sleep and rip one off while being 'partly awake' then turn over and sleep on, practically without remembering it. Unless the otherone is awake and let's go of a cursing about the foul animal that crawled up the others behind to die there...

What I'm wondering has to do with discriminating between the passing of gasseous discharge and solid or solid/liquid mixed phase discharges. Bladder control seems to be a simple thing. The discharge is always liquid so the discharge detection and control system can be a simple "yes" or "no" decision...."yes" means let it flow and "no" means don't....simple. But the job done at the anal sphincter is much more complex...because the possible discharge can be gasseous, liquid, solid, OR ANY COMBINATION OF THE THREE!!! This means that one must be able to distinguish between the various conditions to allow passage of appropriate combinations at appropriate times. Now, most of us have developed this ability (to varying degrees) and can make the distinction and exert the proper control even without giving it too much thought...but of course system failure may occur. What I'm wondering is how the heck do we know, when we are sleeping, just exactly what is the composition of the material asking for passage? The bladder control mechanism has it easy....simply always say "no" during sleep.....but the anal sphincter control mechanism says "yes" to some compositions and "no" to others. I think if you give this some thought (perhaps during some spare time on the loo) you too will agree that this takes quite a bit of discernment. Maybe if someone calls you an a55hole you will not take it as such a slight now that we have some idea about how discriminating that orifice actually is.

Its a very simple formula Master Farma

Your anal sphincter is the bodys equivalent of immigration ... it has absolute power over what comes and goes ....

Most of the time it performs as expected providing certain rules and regulations are met ... in these instances you will experience regular and normal passage of motions and gases in their expected context..... no surprises and no mess.

However, as we know, the boys and girls at immigration can have a bad day and your anal sphincter is no different..... in these instances you can then find nasty surprises awaiting you upon awakening or lying in your underwear after a heavy night.

Basically the same rules apply to your bottom 'O' ring as to immigration ... never assume anything and always expect the unexpected ... :o

I think it all comes down to this............ If its a brrrrrrrrrrr ! - your ok

It its a brrrb or pffffffff, you should be right.

If its a paaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... your a little bit suspect :o
