King Naresuan Movie

Featured Replies

Since Major has decided that it is only going to show this movie for two straight weeks I figure I might as well go see it.

Any comments about it for those that have already seen it? I do not want to waste my money if it sucks.

Hi

Went to see it last night, if you know a bit about Thai history it would definitely help. On the whole I would say ok although if you could find something else to do for an entire evening then I would pursue that first!

I would recommend you wait for the DVD so that you can have the luxury of turning it off! NOT counting the days for part 2!

I don't think you need to know anything about Thai history to like this movie. The production values are top rate and it is a good story. It is long, so don't go if you are too sleepy. I am really looking forward to Part 2.

I thought it was pretty good. You can tell they spent big bucks making the film. Everything was really nice looking.

Its long but I enjoyed it and wasnt bored at all.

its ok, ive seen worst but i give it 2 stars, kinda long, but not bad.

whats the score with this film - does it have english subtitles? Saw the trailers and it looks ok might have a butchers tonight if there are subtitles. my thai not up to it!

I've been to be both 1 and 2 and really enjoyed them and am anxiously awaiting number 3 although it wont be here till December.

I recommend these movies to everyone. Plus you get to sit an nice A/C for 3 hours!!

I just wish Charletts Web was in English! :-(

I saw 1 & 2 in Hua Hin with eng subtitles and really enjoyed them both. You'll pick up a few keen insights into who Thais are and who Thais think they are from the truths and myths that shape their psyche. Highly recommended!

Part one is a collection of pro-Thailand homilies and dry and drawn out discussions/dialogues on court intrigue. The child actors are amateurs and at times make you uncomfortable with their poor acting. After a while you start not to care which minor state allies with which other minor state and the jingoism gets old fast.

I thought during the movie that it would be the first one in my life that I walked out of in the middle, but was watching it with a Thai and decided that might not have gone down well.

Also, the film slipped out of register halfway through, cutting off the subtitles. Someone finally went out to relay this information to the projectionist, wherever he was.

I'd give it a 2 out of 10 overall.

i saw it with my date. fell asleep after a few hours, probably not the best thing to do during a date, she said "you look cute when you sleep" so maybe i didnt blow it there. bring lots of coffee if you want to see it.

if ong bak was a 9/10 and bangkok dangerous a 2/10 this was a 4/10. =)
