Kitchen splashback

Featured Replies

I have a small kitchen and I would like to protect the wall between the sink and upper cabinet. I don't want to tile the area so I bought some feature board to use as a splashback and I don't want to drill it to the wall. Any idea how to stick to the wall or what kind of glue to use? Thanks.

Construction epoxy (No Nails or similar names)

Do be aware that if you use a construction adhesive it's not coming off, ever!

If you're in a rental it may be better to use 3M double-sided tape, pretty darn strong if the surfaces are clean, but it does come off, eventually.

I would drill and screw with big stainless washers to hold the board in place....if the landlord is fussy its easy to remove and then fill the holes...also I would go for sheet aluminum instead of plastic future board, easier to clean heat and (most) chemical resistant and almost as easy to cut and shape...but very sharp so careful.

If you insist on future board then silicon mastic would probably do to stick it to the wall.

I think I will go for the double side tape. There is not much cooking so aluminium wouldn't be needed.
