BANGKOK, 28 May 2018 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is to provide first aid training to students in the capital city, teaching them to save lives in emergency situations.

The City Hall, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Thai Association for Emergency Medicine, will offer a special training program for first aid and emergency nursing to Bangkok schools, helping youngsters develop basic life-saving skills.

Vice Minister of Education, Sophon Napathorn said an ability to help oneself and others in an emergency situation is critical and that the ministry understands the need for Thai students to have this basic knowledge.

Dr. Sant Hathirat, the president of the Thai Association for Emergency Medicine, noted that the training program will enable students to respond correctly under life threatening circumstances, adding that his association will introduce similar programs to schools outside Bangkok.
