Since we've had our mutt we tend to go out less as the missus doesn't like leaving the dog. We do sometimes have someone babysitting him but on occasion we'd like to take him out. Obviously we're not talking anywhere posh but does anyone know where we can go to eat with a reasonably well-behaved little dog?

And please, no suggestions of Vietnamese of Korean restaurants where they'll "look after" him in the kitchen!

Really depends on a couple of things, lunch or dinner and of course where you live.

We live in the south and typically eat out at lunchtime. For casual eating, the Beach Bar at Khao Kad at Cape Panwa is fine, for a betfer lunch and dinner waterside, the Phuket Yacht Club in Chalong is also great.

Both places no problems with dogs, though of course you should always respect the other patrons and the dog must be on a lead and under control at all times.

Except for disabled assist dogs i don't believe that dogs belong in restaurants.

Can't people be without their dogs for a few hours ?

Whats next ? Cats, Hamsters,

Hi Matt, I have been reading your posts for years and you seem like a really nice, thoughtful, squared away guy. The type of person who would make a good neighbor.

Please leave the dog at home.

Our two killer chihuahuas are fine on their own for a few hours, but they don't live in the house so there's not a lot of damage they can do.

Whilst we could take them to a restaurant, they sit happily under the table at home with the occasional beady eye aimed at the food, we wouldn't take them for fear of hurting other customers.

If it's on the floor a well-trained pet pooch is no more unhealthy than a service dog.

Sadly there are way too many less than well-trained pet pooches (and owners), please leave your baby at home.
