Manage to separate using ice but it gets stuck every time, how do you stop this happening every time the sections are connected? thinking maybe a can of Plumbers freeze spray will be handy when using the rod(If t can be bought in Thailand)

Olive oil the male end before using it.

A little late to the party, but I rub a candle on the male end of the ferrule to leave a thin coat of paraffin on it.  Rub it on, fit the parts together and rotate them a little to spread wax to the female end, then wipe off the excess on the male end.  In fact, I polish the male end afterward, leaving no visible wax.  But it leaves enough of a coating to smooth out the joint.Beeswax works, too.  But it's usually easier to find a candle.
