Most reliable dry cleaners in BKK

Featured Replies

I just had a suit ruined by a laundry that claimed they did dry cleaning.  Yes, I know.  My fault.  Any recommendations for real dry cleaners who know what they're doing?

Mandarin Oriental Hotel dry cleaners. Either at the hotel in small shopping arcade or outlets at Central Chidlom, Emporium. Shangri La Hotel also has dry cleaners.

I also recommend Oriental Hotel dry cleaners at Central Chidlom. Failing that any very high end hotel dry cleaner. Anywhere else and high chance it will be ruined likely by using an iron direct on the wool without intervening cloth (they probably instruct the staff to use cloth but if the supervisor is not standing over them they likely don't bother). If your suit came back shiny that is what happened (happened to me with western chain hotel dry cleaner in Indonesia)

While I am here, Savile Row says not to dry clean as it extracts the oils from the wool (I thought that was done anyway, yielding Lanolin in wool processing). In 100% humidity you have to dry clean a suit but can reduce the number of times it has to be put at risk in dry cleaners by using a steamer to remove wrinkles.
