Chain coffee shops in bkk with decaf?

Recommended Posts

I found a thread here a while ago about buying decaf coffee in stores.  It can be found many places.  I seem, though, to be able to find it only in small out-of-the-way coffee shops (or expensive chichi places like The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf).  The big chains you find in malls and gas station stops (Starbucks, Holly's, Amazon, etc) never seem to have it.  Anyone know of coffee shops with lots of bkk locations that regularly have decaf?  Thanks.

Starbucs definitely has it.  Latte decaf for instance.  They only make a selection of their products in decaf.

Amazon does not have it indeed. And there is a lot of caffeine hidden in those sweet coffees.

Always an experience when you ask for decaf where they don't have it! Asking it in English or  even inThai,  you get that look asif you asked for a spaceship or something....

People don't have a clue what your talk about when you order decaf,  for starters they don't know what caffeine is.  Always surprises me,  how is possible to be working in a coffeeshop and have near zero knowledge about the products you sell,  coffee.

I never go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean. Every time I back to visit LA I only go to Pitt’s. I could not find any “decaf” here and I know even if I find it, it is not really decaf. Last time I brought 4 pounds of Hazelnut decaf from LA. My local coffee shop makes the coffee for me by my bean. I pay full price though. They are happy to make it for me since it’s scent is so good to them,. unlike theirs (no scent).

Management doesn't teach them. The blame goes to management and staff, 'cause if they'd be interested in their job, they could find plenty of info in internet. It's so easy nowadays.

I know I can find it in supermarkets.  What I'm looking for is a big chain of coffee shops (the kind in lots of malls) where I can sit and sip a decaf at 4 or 5 pm while the wife is shopping, without worrying that I'll be up all night.  ?

It never surprises me to find anybody, anywhere, having zero knowledge of the product they make/handle/sell

Then to my knowledge Starbucks is your only choice.

Dean & Deluca also have it.  For some reason it doesn't come out as nice usually, more watery and musty-tasting, like the pack has been sitting there for months.  I make decaf at home all the time and it can taste as good as regular coffee.
