I need a gearbox rebuild.

Does anyone know of a garage on Samui where I can get this done?

Manual gearbox or an automatic transmission? They are usually different specialist mechanics. By knowing which, it might help get you a response you are looking for.

I take mechanical work to the guy with a workshop almost opposite the Tourism College on the lake road. From the lights, drive past the college and he is on  the left.

 

He has never failed me on mechanical stuff yet. He has very poor English.

Would be worth trying Ohm cars. Have a shop in Chaweng Noi, Lamai and Maenam. Get all my car work done there. ideally speak to the boss himself to get a better deal.

Changed the clutch, changed cylinder head gasket, changed generator. 

They have around 10 mechanics. 

Very nice clean professional place.

No idea, catering Thais, the boss and the daughters although are fluent in English. The daughters runs the office, boss supervise the mechanics. 

 

Easy to find although, just 50 m from the ring road opposite to Impiana.
