PATTAYA:--Chonburi’s governor donated motorcycles, jet skis and safety equipment to the province’s police to bolster safety for tourists.

Gov. Pakarathorn Thienchai presented the 69 motorcycles, six jet skis, 720 helmets with attached cameras and other safety equipment to Provincial Police Region 3 June 30.

The “Rescue Patrol” motorcycle donation includes first-aid training for officers so they can fulfill their mission as qualified first responders in cases of accidents or illnesses involving residents and tourists.

The “Sudden Patrol” helmet donation features cameras that record an officer’s interactions with criminal suspects and the public to improve accountability and transparency.

The “Beach Patrol” jet ski donation also includes emergency-response equipment for use on the water in case of marine accidents involving tourists.

Would it not be correct to say....chonburi governor used tax payers money to donate equipment to the police.

Reading the post it says the governor donated the items. If that is the case where did he get the money from?

Anyone would think the governor donated out of his own pocket.

He allocated funds from the provincial budget for some equipment that the police department should provide as a matter of course.

Is that so the police can arrive at the 'accident scene' of a 'scratched jetski' faster?

Or perhaps they will be renting their jetski out themselves, putting the 'other mafia' out of business?

Will the jetski's be any cheaper to rent than the other ones on the beach .. And will they be turning it over on its return to say you've damaged the underside .. ?

So it that means police will start helping tourists in need or it is just another corrupt official there give gifts to lazy and corrupt police this tread make me confused

How will the uniform of the AQUA police officers look like? ?

The funds must be versatile. No cabinet or parliament involved. Seems to be very transparent LOL

And I thought that Thai cops, esp. in Pattaya, had been in the jet ski business for a long time, helping their compatriots, for a fee, to scam tourists reach their financial dreams... ?

Guess the waters going to be full of policemen........

Looks like a case of “ unusual wealth “ ???

Pattaya police as first responders in a medical emergency? Oh dear, I can see a turf war coming up with the body snatchers. ⚔️  ?  :partytime2:

I hope they use their cameras so they can record all the stupid foreigners breaking the laws. And then upload to Youtube so we can all have a laugh ?

That would be a very short clip.

But if it was Thais breaking the Laws, hours and hours of footage

easily recordable every day 24/7

Can be that the Governor or some family member owns the shops that selling all that items? Sounds quite suspect to me a story like that

I can imagine many interractions where the police will preferrably turn off their cameras, so that the sacred teamoney ceremony doesnt make it into the public domain.

They are never on constantly battery life lol

It's comforting to know the police will be capable of saving us from ourselves now.

That feeling I had about the largest criminal organization in the country must have been false. It was just a feeling....anyway.
