Hi all

So the story is my Pay tv True Remote died, it's for their top box. Checked it with the phone camera.

So just went to Amorn & bought a replacement True HD - S200S (it's a bigger size remote ). 200 bht 

 

No good & checked with phone camera, all ok 

 

I pretty well know it's not the box as it has been ok

 

Are there any tricks to these non genuine replacements ?

Have no idea what you mean you checked it with the phone camera unless that IR is working - that does not check that it is the proper code.  Unless you have or know someone with same type unit would suggest to pay the price and buy from True.  If you have access to same type box/remote you could buy learning remote and program it (which is what I use).
