Deputy Interior Minister presses Chiang Rai to tackle drugs, security and illegal immigrants

Deputy Minister of Interior urged government units in Chiang Rai to focus on three main issues including public security, drugs, and illegal immigration.

Banyat Chansena (บัญญัติ จันทน์เสนะ), deputy minister of interior, travelled to Chiang Rai on an official visit to hear problems of local residents and deliver policy to state agencies. He called for the Chiang Rai governor and commander of the Chiang Rai Provincial Police to keep monitoring public security and create reconciliation in the province.

Regarding the drug situation and illegal immigration, Mr Banyat suggested that the provincial authorities should cooperate with the neighboring countries, which are Myanmar and Lao, in tackling the problems. According to him, the ministry was reported that more drugs had been smuggled in the country.

As for a lack of budget of the provincial customs office, Mr Banyat affirmed that he will forward the issue to relevant central government units.
