With a belly full of good whiskey and viagra and a sweet young thing riding you like she's just won the lottery (not knowing you spent the last cent you had left in this world on her barfine) !

Dream on; most of the 'sweet young things' will exclaim 'you finish yet' after three minutes, as they want to get back on their phone !

Man, if I was that far gone that I was trying "death by snu snu" (Futurama reference) I don't think I'd make it 3 minutes with a belly full of booze and viagra ! (A number of people have died after having just a couple drinks and a couple blue pills.)
And I've had girls answer their phones right in the middle of sex. One gave me the "keep quiet" sign as she was (supposedly) talking to her mom and we kept right on going.

But seriously. If you spend enough time on Walking Street, you see all manner of drunks passed out in different places. Many years ago I saw a guy laying on the ground in a rain gutter on Soi Lucky (that little alley between the Marine Hotel and the Marine Bar on Walking street, where the Blues Factory used to be). I stopped to see if he was OK and he starts yelling and swearing and flailing his arms around.
Maybe he thought he was being attacked or robbed. Maybe he was just another drunken <deleted> that couldn't handle his booze. Saw enough of those in the army.

I just walked away.
Nowadays I wouldn't even bother looking at a drunk on the street. If I saw an accident or emergency of some kind, sure I'd try to help if I could.
But some loser that doesn't know when "enough is enough" and keeps drinking until he passes out on the floor (or street or wherever) ?

Not my problem.

I ponder how many otherwise well-meaning but totally gormless passers by took pictures or video of him and posted it on their social media with some ill-timed joke or mindless emoticon. Probably well on his way to anonymous meme-hood by now.

RIP whoever you are. Questionable as the circumstances may be, you certainly got a lot more than your 5 minutes of fame.

This guy should be knighted............... Surely this is a reflection of FACE obeying societies???? Surely in the UK NOBODY could be like that for 2 hours........... If China, he'd probably still be there......

You must be related to Tonjaw (Mr Delicato), If there were any farangs about, maybe the would have as I have seen in the past.

Don't get all sensitive on me, just stating the facts, Thai's don't like farangs, some farangs will deny this and that's ok with me, I have it 1st hand from Thai's and I accept it, why else do you see 10 of them on 1 in Phuket or Pattaya, answer me that, or are you in love with Thai's ?

Me personally, I tolerate them, am respectful, but wouldn't P on them if they were on fire because I know they wouldn't P on me if I was on fire, calling a spade a spade, Mr Delicato's friend

I don't know what this has to do with my post. In tourist areas farang are their own worst enemy, at least in places like Pattaya where they throw all scruples overboard and let out the inner animal. Thai's in normal surroundings are just as caring as any other nationalities, farangland is no better or worse, there are people who for instance try to help the homeless and others who kick them as in London recently or set fire to them as in Berlin a few days ago. It is wrong to point the finger at Thais in general because he was left like that for two hours, in that area Thai's would be used to drunk farang making pigs of themselves how were they to know he was dead, for them it was just another drunk farang scenario.

I suppose your right, if he was breathing they would have paid attention to him, hey, where you go, I love you long time, but if he is down, he is of no use, no have money, no honey, humanity at its best, like I said before Thainess

There are possibly a number of things we armchair detectives are unaware of in this case due to cr@p reporting.  You might be 100% right but if the area was out the traffic zone he might well have not been noticed for a while.  Perhaps give it the benefit of doubt before employing full Thai bashing mode.

I am not Thai bashing, and you might be right, I see it the way I see it, clearly, from my point of view and have seen it many times before, all they are interested in is your $'s, not if your ok mate, and I have said this before as well, why do they bounce 10 on 1 when a farang is involved in an altercation ? Thainess ?

All the felangs in this thread complaining about Thais and Thais not offering this guy assistance for two hours .

   May I ask you a question ?

Everytime you see a Thai laying on the street , do you go and check their pulse and wake them up and ask if they are OK ?

'What a way to go'  Is this implying that this is a good way to go?  It's not. A tragic, sad, and sleazy end with all dignity stripped away, ignored, and then gawped at by the local human herd.

Dignity can only be experienced by the living... when we're dead we're just meat.

Well nice to see you’ve removed your head long enough to type a reply. So you went crying ? to the moderator to have my post removed, oh boo boo poor you. Obviously your ego cannot take constructive criticism. You initially blamed the Thais for not checking if this poor man was ok. There are probably as much or more foreigners in the area than Thais but you jumped right on Thais without first engaging brain, oops silly you.

Oh, and as another poster said, don’t change your name, it’s suits your personality perfectly. Let’s see how long this reply stays for ?

Mate, I never once complained to a moderator, these guys do what they gotta do, and I am sure my number will be up sooner or later, but so far so good, just try and not make it personal as I think if they see you having a go in a distasteful manner they will shut you down for a period of time, comments like your head up your A is not nice, sunshine ? as it becomes personal.

The way I see it, when a tourist is holidaying in a country, they should be looked after, now the Thai's P and moan and groan that business is bad, especially in areas that have bars, with a lot of bars closing down over the last decade, I wonder why, it can't be take take take, some care has to also be shown, regardless of how many drunks are falling over the pavement, personally if I saw the guy, I would have went over and checked him out, the other alternative is to turn my cheek the other way and become selfish, not a Thai basher at all, married to one, just stating what I believe to be true, some accept it by liking my reply, other put their opinions forward, some tasteless, but hey that's ok, lots of keyboard grumpy warriors in this world and I can't change that.

As for my name here on TVF once upon a time I owned a 1974 White Silver Shadow with that number plate, which was personalised and I felt the personalised plate fitted nicely, now if your a bright spark, you can work out the rest, or if your short of a few coins up top, Google it.

Not Thai bashing? Re-read your comments Einstein.  “ Thainess at its best “, “ Sad reflection in Thai society, sad part is it is it’s always been that way. If this was a Western country you are 99.9% sure he would have been checked “, Then when a video is posted refuting your claim about westerns offering help you Brit bash and call them uneducated”. Re-read more of your comments if you wish but it was a Thai bash whichever way you look at it. Not once did you mention about any expats checking him out.

Yes I am talking from my own and my mates experiences, and farangs who have been ripped off time and time again, and I read stories here and on other forums, pretty much same same.

My wife respects me enough to tell me exactly how it is here in Thailand, no reason to lie, she got my back, there are those who would love to fleece me, as they have others, can't say they haven't tried and tried again, including my wife's family, but like I said, she has my back, respects me enough to also know that I am streetwise, and she believes in Karma.

Lots of farangs don't get told how it is, why, I have no idea, perhaps best keep us in the dark, like the Thai government telling the Thai people that the cave boys did not get anesthetized before they came out, and not to question them, anything different is a lie.

When I first to came to Thailand in 2006 saw Thai's as caring and loving people, truth of the matter is the "land of smiles" as we refer to it is full of a hell of a lot that farangs have no idea about and I am not going to go on about this or that, I see it with my own eyes, like my wife said to me many times, step out of your shoes, walk back a couple of steps, look at those around you, look at their smiles and how they look at the others, they have their own code so to speak, farangs are from another world to them, they have money, they spend it like there is no tomorrow, get what you can out of them, etc, etc.

Like I said, not going to go into it, I do what I have to do, I smile, I give way as I would back home when driving although it's not a thing they do here, I am a guest in their country, and I accept 90% of things, but when I see a farang down, I do get P'd because I know they don't give a rats, forgive me for Thai bashing if that's the way I come across, that's your prerogative to think that way, and I am thick skinned enough to not give a rats, but do me a favour, as my wife says to me, step out of your shoes, take a few steps back and look at those around you, see if things change.

RE - but when I see a farang down, I do get P'd because I know they don't give a rats,

Do we have any reason to expect that thais should care more about foreigners than foreigners care about thais? In Thailand foreigners are outsiders in the same way as Thais are outsiders abroad - as the PM said to Thaksin - second-class citizens...

Some years ago I saw  a Farang down in Nana, Soi 4. There were many Farang witnessing this. The only person who showed an interest was a ladyboy, no doubt to take his wallet. Such is life.

Not knowing his illness we don't know if his death could have been prevented. But it's never too late to change your lifestyle, eat less and healthier food, start exercising and stop drinking too much.

It's possible , even in a city like Pattaya.

Don't blame the bar. I've witnessed too many rat-arsed foreigners passed out here to give much attention to yet another. Neverthless this is a sad event. RIP.

Check out post #24, read foreign news or simply google and you will certainly see that it happens in other countries.

Also as the poor man collapsed and past away in a bar area frequented by foreigners then that shoots your comment down in flames does it not.

Not necessarily , I often go out without I.D. as do a number of my friends.

which means he and his  friends  do not take a picture of their passports and visas with them.

In this setting we can assume that enough exercise has been performed - walking up and down the different bar soi's looking for a fitness trainer for the night so its rather all about drinking and eating habits....:whistling:
