Chiang Rai Train Station

There's a lot of talk of a train connection between Den Chai and Chiang Khong. Does anyone habe an idea where in the city the new station is planned?

There will be no train station in Chiang Rai city. Nearest station probably in Den Ha 57 km away.

I am told that the branch line from Den Chai has been under discussion since the 1930s. I don't think they have got round to deciding where to put the station yet!
