REL: Work Permit and 5-year driver licence renewal

I finally got it. My work permit not only has my company name and address in it but my residence address as well. But my residence address, the one I use for my 90-day report at immigration, is tucked back on the last pages of my work permit. I never noticed that.  After all these years and three different work permits a colleague told me that that is why you can use your work permit as proof of address when renewing your Thai drivers licence. He has just renewed his drivers licence with his work permit as proof of address. The work permit is an official Thai government document with your residence address in it.  Silly me.

It's never too late to learn

But really since years it's published that the WP serves as an undisputed proof of address for DL and other purposes like opening bank account.
