Hotel doesn't have 3 prong outlet

Featured Replies

We are staying at a hotel for a couple of weeks and have a Macbook to charge but none of the outlets at the hotel have 3 prongs. Not even the mini fridge plug. The charging cord for the laptop does have a 3rd grounding prong.

Is there anything we can do? Is there any adapter that will work plugging in the 3 prong charging cable and popping a 2 prong out the other side?

It's disappointing because up until now there has been no issue.

Two wire is still widespread.

Get an adapter for some xx Baht at most hardware/electrical supply stores.

Where are you?

Most hotels will have available a variety of adaptors. Have you asked them? Buying an adaptor will cost you peanuts.

Agree ^  Hotel should have adapter or tell you where to get one.  Mind the 3rd prong in the adapter won't be carrying ground but at least you can plug in.

Get one of these for around 20B in any mom and pop hardware store:

Can't swear but maybe even at the 7/11 "hardware corner".

Any 3 to 2 pin adapter will work and FWIW the MacBook charger does not use the earth that maybe in the cable at all, anyway,
