TAT article promoting ‘friendly waves’ gets slammed

Bad timing for the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) after they posted a feature on August 10 that promoted surfing off Phuket’s west coast beaches.

Phuket is currently facing a crisis of confidence over the lack of adequate lifeguard services along its west coast beaches, battered annually by heavy seas and deadly rip tides and currents from the south-west monsoon.

Read the TAT story about ‘friendly waves’ from August 10 HERE.

Poor sea conditions prevailed along Thailand’s Andaman and Gulf of Thailand coasts last week prompting warnings that tourists should stay on dry land.

No doubt a certain 'blogger' will be appearing in Phuket shortly with his drone to promote the wonderful beaches

Tat report reads like Robert Duval telling young surfer Lance about the waves,in Apocalypse now after they attack the village.

...sad to say but.....

...tourism is the rich relative.....

....and Thailand is the 5-year old that has inherited all of the relative's wealth....

....and so many of the 'officials' that are in key positions in Thailand...appear to be that 5-year old's friends...

...so much money....clueless as to what to do with it.....

...now and again....coming up with completely idiotic ideas.....

....trying to 'play adults'....struggling with twinges of guilt....and to justify their windfall.....
