PHUKET: Patong Police Chief Col Anothai Jindamanee today confirmed that none of the officers transferred out of Patong while under investigation for alleged corruption have returned to their posts in Phuket’s busiest tourism town.

Agrichemicals severely contaminating tap water in province

Assoc Professor Puangrat Kajitvichyanukul yesterday holds up a test tube containing a sample of tap water, which will be analysed to see if it is contaminated with paraquat. She was at a local water plant in Nong Bua Lamphu.

 

THE CONTAMINATION with agrichemicals in Nong Bua Lamphu remains severe according to the latest analysis by Naresuan University researchers, which found very high concentration of four prominent herbicides in soil, water, vegetables, fish and even in local tap water samples.

Phetchaburi town swamped as dam releases water, river overflows

The Phetchaburi River yesterday inundated Phetchaburi’s Muang district as the upstream Kaeng Krachan Dam released water after reaching 109 per cent of its capacity.

 

THE PHETCHABURI River has overflowed, leaving its riverside areas flooded for a stretch of at least 60 kilometres.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's customs-cleared annual exports may have risen 9.8 percent in July, a Reuters poll showed, quickening from an 8.19 percent increase in the previous month.

More Phuket monkeys to be sterilised next month

GISTDA acknowledges flood conditions but says situation is manageable

‘High’ driver races minibus with 40 passengers to flee police

In what might have felt like their worst nightmare come true, 40 passengers on a minibus bound from Phra Pradaeng to Phahurat on Tuesday night found themselves erratically swerving from side to side on the road while hurtling at high speed as the driver, who later admitted to being high on meth, tried to elude pursuing police officers.
