Portraits of foreign monarchs

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just wondering if it's okay and legal to display a portrait of the queen of England in my home in Bangkok. Asking because I'm not sure if it counts as lèse majesté.

Cheers

Interesting question.

Can't see why it would be, but then almost anything and everything can be spun into lèse majesté if required.

Honestly unless you have some super ultra royalists in your circle of friends, don't give it a second thought....most 'normal' Thais don't!

I'm sure it would be OK, but put up a photo of HM the King (IX or X) a little bit higher.

If anyone asks, just tell them that Shes your mum
