Surgery for Removal of Excess Skin after Significant Weight Loss

Featured Replies

My 27 year old son has lost nearly 50 kg of body weight over a significant period of time and has been able to keep the weight off. Great accomplishment, however one adverse result is excess skin in the abdominal area lasting for several years.  This can be very disconcerting, especially for a young man.

I am looking for information and experiences regarding surgical removal of excess skin and tissue from the abdominal area. (Panniculectomy or lower body lift).

Where to have this procedure, costs, risks and rate and level of success.

Thank you for any responses.

Yanhee hospital would be whete to go and might have cost on their website. You can do email consultation with them, uploading pictures and get specific recommendation.

This surgery carries the same risks as any surgical procedure done under general anesthesia.

The main issue with the results is how much of a scar will show. Something to ask about.

I have my niece who in Europe who is in the same situation as your  son. She cant afford to have the procedure at her country as it is not covered by her insurance and it is too expensive to pay by herself. I was Thinking about bringing her to Thailand and paying for it myself. I am not made of money so cost is a concern.

I Looked at the website of the hospital Cheryl so kindly suggested, but I could not find any info specifically concerning the above situation. Unfortunately I am not in Thailand right now, (contract work abroad).

Please post a link to more specific info if you found one, and more info including price if you don't mind. If you dont want to post the info in public please PM me.

Thank You

Their price list shows 110,000 baht for a "tummy tuck". I think removal of excess skin would not be more than that. But email the hospital for exact quote.

This is the link for an online consultation. Upload pictures taken from all sides, it will help them determine what is needed.  http://yanhee.net/contact-us/consultation
