Flash floods engulfed several villages in Prachin Buri's Prachantakham district early on Wednesday.

Bantherng Panyadee, head of the Tambon Pho Ngam Administrative Organisation, said several villages in his tambon were hit by run-off from the Khao Yai mountains at 2am.

Villagers in Ban Khao Noi, Ban Khok Kruad, Ban Pratudab, and Ban Intrai were now suffering under floods 50 to 80 centimetres deep, said Bantherng, adding he had dispatched officials to help residents move their belongings upstairs.

Samrarn Jindarat, kamnan of Tambon Bu Fai, said he received reports that flash floods hit six villages in his tambon, with the water levels of about 80cm.

Samrarn said he had rounded up volunteers to help the villages move their possessions upstairs.

What a horrible thing to go through, (been there and done that in 2011), however, Thai people seem to take it with a grain of salt and never seem to get upset.
