Now departing CNX...................Wisdom Air!

Noticed the Wisdom Air desk at the airport today so had a chat with the young lady and she advised that Wisdom are finally operational, launch date was supposed to be a year ago, and presently offering services to Mae Hong Son, Pai and Nan with MHS being 3 times a week and fares around 1600 one way. They are essentially Kan Air reborn using the 2 Cessna Caravans and plan on expanding to include Mae Sot and others but no date given.

Always enjoyed flying Kan especially to MHS so hopefully they'll be around a while.

Which mastermind came up with that name?

As Socrates said, "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." ...thats worrying.

Lets find another meaning then.

"Think before acting.Take as much time as you need to deliberate on a problem before making a decision"

Even more worrying.!

Ohh, good news.  I haven't been to Pai since air service stopped.  Always loved flying in those Cessna Caravans -- great way to see the countryside, esp during rainy seasons when everything is so lush and green.

Hope they get service to Mae Sot going soon.  I have friends who go there nearly every month and the bus trip is a killer, even with buying two seats for one person.

Lets hope 'Wisdom' resume the CNX to Hua Hin flights as Kan used to offer.

They won't as they don't have the ATR aircraft that Kan used. Odds on Air Asia picking up the route at some stage.

Pai is 1,790 one way Nan 1,690. Other routes in addition to Mae Sot they are looking at are Phrao and Phitsanulok.

The drive to Phrao and Phits are do-able, but like MHS and Pai, the drive to Mae Sot is a twisty-curvy killer that leaves an oldster with a bad back for days.

Flew to Pai with Nok air several years ago.  It's a tiny plane and great fun.  Have a friend in Pai who flew round trip Pai to Chiang Mai.  It's an 8-seater.  On the way here, it was full.  Way back they had 2 passengers.

So is going to their airport counter the only way to book a ticket? I just had a look at their site and there is no way to book there or even a schedule for their flights.

Flew back in today and stopped at the Wisdom desk at the airport to get the latest. They do plan on updating their website to include online bookings but for now it's the airport or Six Stars Travel who are in Maya.

Presently just operating to the 3 destinations but hoping to expand in November.

Present schedule:

Pai daily at 0950 and 1430 return flight departs at 1035 and 1510.

Mae Hong Son daily at 0730 and 1145 plus Mo, Th, Fr, Sa, Su at 1645.

Returns depart at 0820, 1245 and 1745.

Nan Friday and Sunday at 1320 return departs 1445.

We planned to book Kan Air to Huan Hin before they went belly up.Out favourite beach retreat is Bangsaphan 3 hrs drive south of HH.

A beautiful ,quiet location but a helliuva trip from CM 12 hrs by bus to HH alone or fly to Bangkok and get a train to Bangsaphan.

I would imagine during the annual "burn off" this would be an idea escape route for many.Trust Wisdom have taken that on board

That Hua Hin flight was excellent as a big Bang Saphan fan myself but the ATR that Kan hired was returned so zero chance of Wisdom running the route. As an occasional gambling man I would wager half a crown that Air Asia pick it up but maybe not until HH airport upgrade is complete which is years away.
