Massive octopus attacks a diver

Featured Replies

A massive octopus attacks a diver in Primorsky Krai, Russia's Far East, wrapping itself around his arms and equipment as he attempts to prise himself from its grasp. The diver eventually frees himself, but the octopus clings on to the diver's camera rig as he tosses it away. The filmer, Dmitriy Rudas, called him and his colleagues' various with octopuses "comical". This footage was filmed in late summer 2016 >>> More

Yikes... not for me..

I would say more like 'play' or 'investigate' than attack.

They are very inquisitive, if the diver had ascended, the octopus would have swum off.
