(Reuters) - British Prime Minister Theresa May is losing cabinet support for her plan to revert to a 'no-deal' Brexit if Europe rejects the Chequers proposals, The Times newspaper reported, citing sources.

Cabinet ministers including Brexit secretary Dominic Raab, foreign minister Jeremy Hunt, environment secretary Michael Gove and interior minister Sajid Javid are looking to prevent May from locking Britain into a no-deal Brexit, the report said.

The opposing ministers want May to consider a Canada-style free trade deal if the European Union rejects May's proposals again at a summit on Oct. 18, giving her a Plan B to avoid the deal, the Times said.

The concerns arose after May said she would prefer a 'no-deal' Brexit to the offer currently put forward by the European Union, stressing that Britain needs to see counter-proposals from the EU to move Brexit negotiations forward.

Yes, it is becoming very clear how bad a no deal Brexit will be.

Expect next weeks Tory conference to be very heated...

Expect Chequer's to be dead and buried, it was a fudge to appease the Tory loony brexiteers, who although agreed to it at Chequers, but immediately after started to undermine it and May.

Me think the Tories will go into a survival mode with a soft Brexit declaration...

Now that knowledge how big of an mistake Brexit really is has become reality, Brexiters have started to blame Germany for it, instead of carrying responsibility of their own actions.

Germans be like

AS the warnings over the effects of a no deal Brexit keep coming in thick and fast the cry of project fear seems to be dying away somewhat.  The Tory Conference next week should be interesting for what is said and also what isn't said, at least openly.

Chequers may well be thrown out but a no deal Brexit should also be thrown out.  Time for serious compromising now to try to salvage something out of this dire mess.  It has been said many times before but there are no winners here.

Still remember few years back when Brexitters were so strongly saying that EU member countries unity towards Brexit was going break and to divide EU in favour of Britain.

That didn't happen. We are now seeing the cards of both sides on Brexit negotiations and it doesn't look good for Britain.
