Wouldn't worry so much about the engine but the gearbox. A number of cases have been reported of it failing in the ranger / raptor. Some VIN numbers are being recalled, but to me it sounds like a design problem, so it may affect all vehicles. I'd wait at least a year before even considering a ford, given their current problems. Or just buy a fortuner and forget about it.

Indeed on the tranny issue - have been updating some other threads on the troubles you just mentioned for the Ranger / Raptor / Everest...looks like the 10AT is not there, and they might have trouble like the Focus/Fiesta buyers faced just recently. Transmission, pretty key component of your new vehicle....

You asked if it was RHD and that was the only thing that you asked.   The launch photo with the MD clearly shows that they are RHD, that's why it would help.  Ford Thailand do not do grey imports!

The picture that accompanies the OP may help you with that question.

Not the trans internal problem, missing some external clips from factory. If you are going to claim to know about a problem with something at least show something to prove it.

Perhaps you need to take some of your own advice.

If you have a plant running full tilt (x00 vehicles per day) and over a thousand employees engaged in building said vehicles, you do not stop production for a missing external cable clip - you continue to pump them out and hold them in the lot so the clean up crew can install the clip post production and ship - the costs of stop production are huge, and not just at the plant.

The article you reference has TWO acknowledged issues - and that is jus the beginning, not to mention none are related to the Thai produced Ranger/Everest, which has different powertrain configurations than what are mentioned in your article - therefore can very well have different issues.

Stop production for a missing clip is fake news I say....more to come I suspect, but of course do not know for sure the real culprit, just saying beware....

So you have no proof to back up your claim of a faulty transmission then its fake news ??? I think the fake news is coming from you. By the way can you show me the article with the "two Acknowledged" issues ???

Sure - the source of the two issues, is the article you linked to in your original reply....did you bother to read it? It clearly reports two separate issue with the 10AT, and two separate recalls to fix them...please read your own contributions to the thread.

Additionally, there are - at this point anecdotal - reports of Ford Thailand replacing vehicles for people with transmission problems (Ranger/Everest). again still not confirmed but if so then they sure are not replacing vehicles because of a missing clip. Have a rest, review your own links and hope for the best if you are a new 10AT owner - all the best

yes I read the article two clips missing does not constitute a faulty transmission just a breakdown in assembly procedures. And again with the "anecdotal reports" FAKE NEWS stuff still not confirmed as you SAY (whatever they are ?). You are just spreading rumors which you know nothing about. Just be honest and say you dont like ford instead of trying to look like you know something.

I drive a Ranger - my only vehicle......

So i pop in for Mustang News and find its Workmans Truck news.:post-4641-1156693976:

So is anyone considering one of these? Got to admit a V8 would be nice, but for the cost the Benz C43 is attractive- not to mention the better build quality, amenities, and image in Thailand.

I made the same comparison, i like the beasty character of the Mustang but the 5l natural aspirated engine is old school. I had a similar engine in the BMW M5 E60 ( 2005!) which was replaced by the 4.4l twin turbo in the F60 and now in the all new model E90. Unfortunately price in Thailand is 15mill ++
The upgraded MB C43 AMG coupe (to be available in Thailand end of this year) improved exactly on the points that turned me off on the present model.
The bigger turbos also leave more room for re-mapping up to 500HP.
The MB C43 is also cheaper than the Mustang, so I think for the first time in my life I will go for the MB.

Make a post in the forum with your impressions when you drive it. The C43 is getting a hp boost and the sports exhaust. Anything else?

If the V8 Mustang was 1m cheaper I'd consider it. I have a feeling value will drop off a rock for resale.

Anything else? Yes, new dashboard all digital, new steering wheel, different seats.

I had a 77 Mustang II, earlier version of that above I believe (is that an 84?). It was gifted to me by a friend, no cost. It ran til it didn't that is about all I can say about it - not inspiring or fun or practical or fast, just had four wheels and could move you around - barely - when it was working

They did same with 97 Thunderbird. Look how they all went from Classic American to a Jap Compact look about then. I loved the old TBird models.
