is my facial hair getting stronger?

I have now tried all the blades...Gillette and Bic but none of them are giving me a close shave.

I would have thought that with age...I am 78   hair growth would lessen but it appears not

Have you taken a look at your eyebrows?  Face hair seems to get stronger - even when it may be departing on our heads.  But can not explain why you can not get a close shave with current multi bades (if real) - Chinese clones are often less than stellar.

Maybe find a real barber and treat yourself to a professional shave from time-to-time. Their hot towels serve to soften your beard before the shave.
