Anyone using Baclofen (Liobac) for RLS?

Featured Replies

I ordered some 10mg Liobac from Bangkok as I couldn't find it in Pattaya. The dosage instructions say to use it initially 3 times a day for 3 days, then once a day after that. I was under the impression I could just use it whenever the leg spasms occurred, not use it daily for life. I'm already taking BP medication, plus Allopurinol for gout every day, didn't really want to add another medication to the list if possible. Will the Liobac still be effective if used when needed?

No. It has to be taken regularly.

I don't know why the instructions say switch to once a day. the normal dosage is to start at 5 mg three times a day and increase gradually until symptoms are controlled.

Note that this is off-label use, and that there are very few studies on its effectiveness in  PLMD.

And let me again state, for the record, that I have advised against this self treatment and urged you to see a doctor.

I did see a doctor, a specialist at Bkk/Pattaya, and he prescribed Clonazepam, which you said loses it's effectiveness over time, it's also quite  addictive.
