My stay until date is July 15.  It is based on retirement.  

 

How many days max before the July 15 date, can I apply.  I will get an income affidavit from the American Embassy on the last day of December.  If it is good for 6 months that means I have to apply 1.5 months before my stay until date.

Then the Letter is valid until the last day of June = 6 months. So only 2 weeks in advance.

You're correct.  Works out perfectly, so long as CW immigration accepts it at the end of June.
