chainarong
Regardless of country, a country with a Junta needs observers and all the checks and balances the people can get, for a Junta will provide much lip service, but will they actually deliver. So who decide which countries must get observers? and on what criteria?? Not actually true. The UK and the USA regularly have foreign election observers. And I expect Thailand, in the end, will too. But it's not the point. Indeed the whole thread misses the point because it's virtually impossible to fix an election in Thailand these days. The poison in the recipe is the military constitution which is designed to frustrate the wishes of the Thai people by crippling major political parties, filling the Senate with henchmen of the old order and projecting the Junta leader to an unelected premiership.

And Thailand is under a Juntas rule for the 19th time and this time they want to stay in under the guise of a 'freely' elected govt. Free and fair elections they don't want anyone else to see. Nothing to hide then what's the problem????? Edited November 1, 2018 by dinsdale
