Video: King Cobra emerges from the sea to visit tourist beach

A resort owner on Koh Samui started filming when he and his wife noticed a large snake swimming to shore.

It was a two meter long king cobra.

The owner of the resort at ban Bang Rak, Bo Phut, told Sanook that he had never seen this before.

The snake hid itself in the wall of a foreign tourist's bungalow before the snake catchers of a local foundation were called.

The snake was very thin indicating that it had not eaten for a long time. It is believed to have got onto a speed boat where it hid for some time before making its way ashore.

The rescue foundation have handed it over to a snake farm who will return it to a natural habitat.
